Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 February 2019, a ceremony of awarding certificates to the winners of the contest of applied scientific and technical projects and innovative developments within the framework of the state scientific and technical program, implementation of which is scheduled for 2019-2021, was held.
Minister of Innovation Development Ibrohim Abdurahmonov handed certificates to managers of projects, which won the competition.
It is known that the Strategy for Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2019–2021 envisages an increase in government spending on research and development. These expenses, in turn, should benefit the state in the form of products and technologies that serve to improve the quality of life of the population, economic and scientific progress of our country. Also, revenues from the commercialization of scientific research should serve to increase the welfare of the scientists themselves, creating favorable conditions for their further scientific research.
Projects received in each direction of the competition of applied scientific and technical projects, innovative developments, as well as relevant case studies, are examined by the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Innovative Development. The credibility, effectiveness, level of commercialization of projects, their compliance with the conditions of competitive programs, the scientific and technical level of the performers, the availability of the material and technical base of the executors and other criteria are studied, and the corresponding decision is made.
Scientific and technical projects recommended on the basis of the conclusions of scientific and technical councils were reviewed on 16 February 2019 by the Commission of the Ministry, decisions were made on their financing. Thus, 6 projects have been financed that are intended for specific goals in areas such as pharmacology, metallurgy, agriculture, chemistry, and technology.
These 6 projects are the first of the projects recommended for funding. The ministry will systematically publish funded projects on its official website.
