About 274,900 units of small enterprises operate in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 February 2019, the number of operating small enterprises and microfirms in Uzbekistan made up 274,900 units, which is 18.1% more year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a statement.
According to the results of January 2019, the number of newly created subjects of small enterprises and microfirms amounted to more than 12,800 units, which is 8,400 units more compared to than the same period of last year.
Of the total number of operating small enterprises and microfirms, 76,800 units (27.9%) work in trade sector, 58,500 (21.3%) – in trade, 30,000 (10.9%) in construction, 25,400 (8.9%) - agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 20,400 (7.4%) - accommodation and food services, 13,400 (4.9%) – transportation and storage services, 6,900 (2.5%) - information and communication, 5,500 (2%) - health care and the provision of social services, as well as 39,000 (14.2%) – other spheres.
The largest part of enterprises work in trade sector - 6549 units, industry - 2418 units, construction - 1107 units, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 637 units. The smallest number falls on health care and the provision of social services - 112 units, information and communication - 133 units, and also on transportation and storage - 335 units.
A significant part of the newly created small businesses falls on the city of Tashkent (2785 units), Ferghana (1234 units), Tashkent (1235 units) and Samarkand (1074 units) regions. The smallest part of them was recorded in Syrdarya (276 units), Navoi (302 units) and Khorezm (830 units) regions.
