Ambassador of France, Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan discuss development of bilateral cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 February 2019, a working meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan Violaine De Villemeur took place at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.
The focus of the talks was on issues of strengthening bilateral relations, as well as prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and France in the field of trade and investment attraction.
The sides discussed issues of interaction in the field of textile industry, pharmaceuticals, geology, information technology.
French envoy praised the resolute initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the comprehensive development of the economy of Uzbekistan and the conditions created for foreign investors.
An important document formulating the overall targets of the Uzbek-French bilateral cooperation in the implementation of investment projects and trade contracts is the Road Map of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the French Republic on October 10, 2018, which sets out the main activities for the implementation of the agreements reached top level.
As the French side noted, during the state visit, the President of Uzbekistan declared the openness of his country to the whole world, its readiness for fruitful cooperation with all interested partners, which was very positively perceived by the world community.
The visit undoubtedly opened up new prospects for bilateral French-Uzbek cooperation, Ambassador stressed. As a result, visits of representatives of business, political circles, and the French public to our republic are becoming increasingly active.
The French Ambassador paid special attention to the growing number of French tourists to Uzbekistan. The abolition of an entry visa for French citizens contributes to a significant increase in the number of people willing to visit Uzbekistan. According to the expectations of the embassy, their number next year may amount to more than 10 thousand people.
Many facts testify to the growing interest of French business, entrepreneurs, political circles, parliamentarians to Uzbekistan.
Ambassador stressed the importance of the participation of French business circles in the implementation of such projects as the effective use of raw materials and energy potential of the republic, the development of environmentally friendly production, the use of solar energy, gas and other areas.
