Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekiston Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) will launch new terminal for arriving passengers of international airlines at Tashkent Airport named after Islam Karimov.
The terminal will receive passengers, who will arrive from Seoul (South Korea).
It should be underlined that new terminal was constructed on the base of former building of local flights terminal of Tashkent Airport in line with the decision of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The area of old local flights terminal was 9,800 square meters. Local companies participated in designing and construction of the terminal. The estimated cost of the project was 140 billion soums. All the works were executed at the expense of the own funds of Uzbekiston Havo Yollari.
The commissioning of a new building with a capacity of up to 1,200 passengers per hour will significantly improve the service of incoming passengers of international destinations and will speed up the process of passing necessary procedures when entering the country.
The new terminal has new engineering and technological equipment, a Wi-Fi system, "green" and "red" corridors, four luggage tapes, 24 passport control points, a visa support point, two currency exchange offices, two Duty free shops and 2 cafeterias.
The time for passage of passport control will be reduced to 7-10 minutes, before this procedure took 15-20 minutes. Thus, incoming guests and citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to complete all formal procedures at the airport in 20-30 minutes.
At the Tashkent airport named after Islam Karimov there are 4 passenger terminals, 2 runways, 101 parking lots for different types of aircraft.
