Uzbek Justice Minister holds talks at Federal Judicial Center

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ruslanbek Davletov held a meeting with the director of Federal Judicial Center Jeremy Vogel in Washington, USA.
Representatives of the Federal Judicial Center acquainted the Minister of Justice with its main activities. The Center is a scientific and educational agency of the judicial power of the United States of America. The Center supports the effective administration of justice and independence of the judiciary. The role of the Center is to provide accurate, objective information, training, encourage a thorough and open analysis of policies, practices and procedures.
In his turn, Davletov acquainted the host party with the main activities and achievements of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the recent period.
In addition, recent innovations in the national legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan were discussed, including the Presidential Decree "On measures to radically improve the effectiveness of the institution of advocacy and expand the powers of lawyers". The parties also shared their views on the legal challenges facing the society at the present time.
At the same time, Director Jeremy Vogel expressed interest in identifying priority areas for bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation. The parties discussed issues related to the training of legal personnel, study of US experience in the field of judicial and legal regulation, and other legal issues.
The Minister noted that the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan is open for dialogue and cooperation in all spheres that are within the competence of the department.
