Tashkent city produces 16.2% of Uzbekistan’s GDP in 1Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, the volume of GRP of the Republic of Karakalpakstan for January-March 2018 in current prices was 2.29 trillion soums and grew by 5.8% compared to the same period in 2017.
The State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said that the growth in GRP is due to the positive growth rates in the main economic sectors of the region, such as agriculture, forestry and fisheries –2% (share in the GRP structure – 3.5%), industry – 4.3% (40.1%), construction –19.1% (8.8%), services –4.8% (47.6%). GRP per capita amounted to 1.24 million soums and grew by 4.3%.
GRP of Andijan region in current prices made up 3.01 trillion soums and grew by 8.9%. Economic growth was due to positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 1.7% (share in the GRP structure – 7.5%), industry – 25.6% (33.6%), construction –3.7% (5.9%), the service sector – 4.4% (53%). GRP per capita amounted to 999,000 soums and grew by 7,1%.
In Bukhara region GRP decreased by 0.4% and amounted to 2.59 trillion soums. In the GRP sectoral structure, the growth rates were as follows: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 3.8% (share in the GRP structure – 11.9%), in services – 4.9% (51.2%). But there was a decrease in volumes compared to the corresponding period of 2017 in industry – 2.1% (28.6%) and in construction – 76.6% (8.3%). The volume of GRP per capita decreased by 1.8% and amounted to 1.38 million soums.
GRP of Jizzakh region reached 1.23 trillion soums with growth of 2.8%. The growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fisheries was 0.7% (the share in the GRP structure was 15.2%), construction –0.4% (11.1%), services – 5.3% (54.4%). In industry, there was a decrease in volumes by 1.8%. The share of this industry in the GRP structure was 19.3%. The volume of GRP per capita amounted to 929,100 soums and grew by 0,9%.
GRP of Kashkadarya region increased by 5.1% and amounted to 4.08 trillion soums. The growth in GRP is due to the positive growth rates in the main sectors of the regional economy: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries –0.8% (share in the GRP structure – 6.8%), industry – 7% (45.9%), construction – 1.7% (7.6%), services –4.5% (39.7%). GRP per capita increased by 3.1% and amounted to 1.29 million soums.
In Navoi region, the GRP growth was 3.2% and reached 3.85 trillion soums. In the sectoral structure of GRP, the growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fisheries was 3.2% (the share in the GRP structure was 6.5%), industry – 0.3% (69.1%), construction – 12% (4.2%), services –8.1% (20.2%). GRP per capita increased by 1.6% to 4.02 million soums.
The GRP of Namangan region reached 2.12 trillion soums, which is 4% higher than the data for the same period in 2017. The GRP growth rate is due to positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 1.4% (share in the GRP structure – 7.8%), industry – 1.5% (19.4%), construction – 5.6% (6.8%) and the service sector –5% (66%). GRP per capita increased by 2.2% and made up 784,500 soums.
The volume of GRP of Samarkand region in current prices was 3.58 trillion soums and grew by 3%. In this region, positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries were noted – 2% (share in the GRP structure – 10.2%), construction –6.1% (6.6%), service sector – 5.3% (58.9%). In the industry there was a decrease in volume by 3.2% year-on-year (the share of this industry in the GRP structure is 24.3%). GRP per capita increased by 1% and amounted to 961,900 soums.
In Surkhandarya region, GRP increased by 6.7% and reached 2.24 trillion soums. The growth rates in the agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors were 2.4% (the share in the GRP structure was 23.2%), industry – 41.5% (12.2%), the service sector –4.6% (57.2%). In construction, a decrease in volumes of 7.8% was noted (the share in the GRP structure is 7.4%). GRP per capita amounted to 891,100 soums, which is 4.5% higher than the data for the same period in 2017.
GRP of Syrdarya region was 1.02 trillion soums with an increase of 4.5%. In the main branches of the economy of the region, positive growth rates were also noted. In particular, the growth rate in agriculture, forestry and fisheries was 0.9% (share in the GRP structure – 12.3%), industry – 4% (36.4%), construction – 6.1% (6.1%), the service sector – 5.4% (45.2%). The volume of GRP per capita was 1.24 million soums and grew by 2.9%.
In Tashkent region, GRP made up 5.92 trillion soums and grew by 6.1%. The growth in GRP is due to the positive growth rates in the economic sectors of the region: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries –1.2% (share in the GRP structure – 10%), industry – 6.2% (51.7%), construction - 33.4% (4%), services – 4.7% (34.3%). GRP per capita increased by 4.9% to 2.06 million soums.
GRP of Fergana region increased by 3.9% and made up 3.76 trillion soums. The growth rates of GRP are due to the positive growth rates of the regional economy. In the agriculture, forestry and fisheries, the growth rate was 2.2% (the share in the GRP structure was 8.2%), industry – 1.3% (31.5%), construction – 11.8% (6.5%), the service sector – 4.7% (53.8%). GRP per capita amounted to 1.03 million soums and grew by 2.3%.
In Khorezm region, GRP amounted to 1.85 trillion soums, exceeding the level of January-March 2017 by 6.1%. The growth in GRP is due to the growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries at the level of 0.9% (the share in the GRP structure is 12.8%), industry – 17.3% (25.7%), service sector – 4.4% (53.3%). In the construction industry, a decrease in volumes by 1.8% was recorded (the share in the GRP structure is 8.2%). GRP per capita increased by 4.5% to 1.02 million soums.
The GRP of Tashkent city was 10.5 trillion soums, which is 7.2% higher than the data of January-March 2017. The main factors of GRP growth were positive growth rates in industries such as industry – 6.5% (share in the GRP structure – 29.9%), construction – 10.6% (7.8%), service sector – 7.1% (62.3%). GRP per capita increased by 5.3% and amounted to 4.25 million soums.
The largest contribution to formation of the GDP of Uzbekistan was made by Tashkent city with a specific weight of 16.2%. Tashkent and Kashkadarya regions occupy the following places with indicators of 9.1% and 6.3% respectively. The lowest share of GRP in the formation of the republic’s GDP fell to Syrdarya (1.6%), Jizzakh (1.9%), Khorezm (2.9%) regions.
In January-March 2018, the outpacing GRP growth rates were noted in the Andijan region (8.9%), Tashkent city (7.2%), Surkhandarya region (6.7%), Khorezm region (6.1%) and Tashkent region (6.1%). Low GRP growth rates compared to the republican level (5.1%) were observed in Jizzakh (2.8%) Samarkand (3.0%), Navoi (3.2%) regions. In Bukhara region there was a decrease in the GRP (-0.6% compared to January-March 2017).
According to the results of January-March 2018, Surkhandarya region (23.2%) has the largest share of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the GRP sector structure, Navoi region (69.1%) industry, construction - Jizzakh region (11.1%) , the service sector - Namangan region (66%).
The smallest share of agriculture, forestry and fisheries was registered in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.5%), industry in Surkhandarya region (12.2%), construction in Tashkent region (4%), services in Navoi region (20.2%).
