Number of newly created enterprises makes up 5,100 in January

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of newly created enterprises and organizations made up 5,100 in January 2018, which grew by 700 unites compared to the same period of 2017.
State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said that number of enterprises and organizations, which ceased their activities, decreased by 5.3% year-on-year and made up 1,300 units.
As a result, the number of operating enterprises and organizations has increased by 3.6 thousand units (1.3%) since the beginning of the year and reached to 289,100 units. The largest share of operating enterprises and organizations is observed in Tashkent city (21.4%), Tashkent (9.5%), Fergana (8.9%) and Andijan (8.6%) regions.
The share of operating in total number of registered enterprises and organizations was 95.1%, while the proportion of inactive in the total number of enterprises and organizations was 4.9%. The number of inactive enterprises since the beginning of the reporting year remained unchanged.
From the total number of operating enterprises and organizations, the share of enterprises and organizations in the sphere of trade is 22.0%, in the sphere of industry 17.3%, in construction 8.5%, in agriculture, forestry and fisheries 7.4% in the sphere of accommodation and food services 6%, in the sphere of transportation and storage 4.2%, in the sphere of information and communication 2.2%, in the sphere of health and social services 2.1% and in other spheres of economic activity 30.3%.
The decrease in the share of operating enterprises and organizations by types of economic activity in comparison with the same period of the last year is observed in the sphere of health and social services (-1.0 percentage point), in trade (-0.9 pp) in the sphere of information and communication (- 0.1 pp). This is due to an increase in the share of operating enterprises and organizations in the sphere of industry (+0.9 pp), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (+0.5 pp), construction (+0.3 pp), the sphere of services for accommodation and food (+0.2 pp), as well as in transportation and storage, other types (+ 0.1 pp).
The bulk of enterprises with foreign capital participation account for the city of Tashkent (3671 units or 65.5%), Tashkent region (600 units or 10.7%) and Samarkand region (283 units. Or 5.0%). The smallest part falls on Khorezm (51 units or 0.9%), Kashkadarya (55 units or 1,0%), Surkhandarya (59 units or 1,0) and Navoi (60 units or 1.1%) regions. This indicates the need to strengthen joint work with foreign partners, develop and attract foreign investment in these regions.
If to consider the operating enterprises with participation of the foreign capital by kinds of economic activity as of February 1, 2018, then the greatest amount falls on industry (2483 units or 44.3%), trade (1078 units or 19.2%) and other types (996 units or 17.8%), while the lowest falls on health care and social services (76 units or 1.4%), information and communication 129 units. (2.3%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (162 units or 2.9%), transportation and storage (163 units or (2.9%), accommodation and food services (221 units or 3.9%) and the construction (300 units or 5.3%). From this it can be seen that the bulk of operating enterprises with foreign capital participate in industry and trade. And the smallest part is accounted for by types of health care and the provision of social services, as well as information and communication.
As of February 1, 2018, the number of operating small businesses and microfirms in the republic was 232.9 thousand units. This indicator is 9.0 percent higher than the same period last year.
The main part of operating small enterprises and micro-firms is in the city of Tashkent (53059 units or 22.8%), Tashkent region (22075 units or 9.5%), Ferghana region (20563 units or 8.8%) and Andijan region (20409 units or 8.8%).
Of the total number of operating small businesses and microfirms (232,9 thousand units), 63,168 units are operate in trade (27.1%), industry - 49413 units. (21.2%), construction - 24416 units. (10.5%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 20949 units. (9.0%), accommodation and food services - 17200 units. (7.4%), transportation and storage services - 11929 units. (5.1%), information and communication - 6252 units. (2.7%), healthcare and the provision of social services - 4524 units. (2.0%), as well as for other species -35007 units. (15.0%). From this it can be seen that the bulk of operating small enterprises and microfirms account for industry and trade. The smallest share in economic activities is in health, social services, as well as information and communication.
As of February 1, 2018, the number of newly created small business entities and microfirms amounted to more than 4.4 thousand units, which is 4.0 percent more than in 2017. Most of all the newly created small businesses are in Tashkent (1048 units), Tashkent (442 units), Ferghana (372 units) and Samarkand (364 units).
The smallest falls on Syrdarya (122 units), Khorezm (149 units) and Navoi (173 units) regions. If you look at the types of economic activity, then the largest number falls on industry - 1084 units, trade - 927 units, construction - 300 units, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 514 units. And the least is in health care and the provision of social services - 120 units, information and communication - 129 units, as well as transportation and storage - 201 units.
As of February 1, 2018, the number of registered family enterprises that have passed state registration as a legal entity amounted to 12,592 units, of which 12,051 units or 95.7% were active. In comparison with the previous year, the growth in the number of registered and operating family enterprises was 36.8%.
If we consider the number of operating family enterprises by type of economic activity, the major share falls to industry - 38.5% or 4640 units, accommodation and food services - 20.3% or 2452 units, trade - 15.5% or 1863 units , agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 11.9% or 1438 units, information and communication - 1, 2% or 149 units, construction - 1.2% or 145 units, transportation and storage - 1.1% or 132 units, health care and provision of social services - 0.9% or 103 units and other types - 9.4% or 1129 units.
