Uzbekistan increases excise taxes on alcohol in 2018

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 January 2018, Uzbekistan increases excise tax rates for alcoholic beverages, alcohol, and beer produced in the republic.
The new rates were established by the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators and parameters of the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2018”.
According to the document, from 1 January 2018, the excise tax on ethyl alcohol for 1 decalitre of finished products is 7,844 soums (+25%) and for natural wines – 6,994 soums (+10%).
The excise tax on other wines for 1 decaliter of finished goods increased to 12,000 soums (+ 20%), for cognac - 73,997 soums (+ 27%), vodka and other strong alcohol products - 67,571 soums (+ 25%), beer - 7699 soums (+ 20%).
For cognac with a volume fraction of alcohol more than 40%, the excise tax rate is set at 121,928 soums per 1 decalitre of finished products (growth - 27%), and for vodka and other alcoholic products with a volume fraction of alcohol above 40% - 111,339 soums per 1 decilitre (25 %).
