Uzbekistan to join Cape Town Convention and Aviation Protocol

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved a law “On accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment (Cape Town, 16 November 2001) and to the Protocol on Aviation Equipment to the Convention on international guarantees for mobile equipment (Cape Town, 16 November 2001)”.
It was noted that these international legal instruments were adopted in Cape Town on 16 November 2001 and entered into force on 1 March 2006. Currently, 73 states are members of the documents.
The Cape Town Convention and the Aviation Protocol determine the procedure and consequences of the emergence of international guarantees, recognized by all States parties to these documents for aircraft objects - aircraft, engines and others.
According to the senators, the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the above-mentioned international legal documents will ensure the economy of public funds for acquisition of expensive aircraft in modernization of the fleet of civil aircraft of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which ultimately should improve the level of flight safety.
