Direct flight between Tashkent and Yerevan can be opened

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Armenia discussed issues of opening direct flights between Tashkent and Yerevan.
The issue was considered at the negotiations between Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan in Tashkent.
Karen Karapetyan noted that Armenia is interested in boosting interstate relations with Uzbekistan. He said the two countries should actively develop contacts between business communities, chambers of commerce and industry, and specialized development agencies.
In this regard, the importance of setting up an intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation was emphasized on both sides. The Armenian Premier paid special attention to the prospects for cooperation within the framework of the free economic zone being established on the border with Iran.
As they discussed the possibilities of developing cooperation in the field of tourism, the Uzbek and Armenian Prime Ministers discussed issues of launching a direct air service between Yerevan and Tashkent. The parties stressed the need for establishing diplomatic missions.
Karen Karapetyan and Abdulla Aripov agreed to give new impetus to bilateral relations in a bid to build up stronger political and economic ties between the two countries.
