President approves CIS agreement on rapprochement of approaches in sphere of peaceful atom

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved an agreement on rapprochement of approaches to normative-legal and normative-technical regulation, conformity assessment, standardization, accreditation and metrological support in use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
On 2 November 2017, the President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On approval of an international treaty”.
The document was signed by the CIS countries in Kazan (Russian Federation) on 26 May 2017.
The President determined the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Geological Exploration of the Earth, Safe Work in Industry, Mining and Utilities Sector under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan and the Uzbek Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Certification as the competent authorities responsible for implementation of the international treaty.
Implementation of rapprochement of approaches of the states-participants of this Agreement on normative-legal and normative-technical regulation, conformity assessment, standardization, accreditation and metrological support in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy will be carried out the adoption of additional agreements by the parties, defining activities in these areas.
President entrusted Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan to direct notification to depository on execution of internal procedures, necessary to enforce the international agreement.
