Astana hosts meeting on regional cooperation on drug control

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan took part in the 10th meeting of the Memorandum of Understanding on Regional Cooperation on Drug Control in Central Asia on 31 October.
The meeting was held in Astana (Kazakhstan), the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said. Delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the Regional Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime attended the meeting.
The meeting participants discussed issues of interaction in Central Asia in the field of drug control.
The participants also examined new trends, challenges and prospects for regional cooperation in preventing illicit drug trafficking, new psychoactive substances, illegal financial flows and combating the financing of terrorism.
The issues of ensuring sustainable activity of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Center for Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC) were also discussed.
Following the meeting, the Declaration was adopted.
