Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the study trip of the German economic delegation and media journalists to Samarkand region, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Uzbekistan Günter Overfeld got acquainted with the activities of the joint Uzbek-German enterprise JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan and inspected vehicles, produced at this plant.
A vivid example of fruitful and constructive investment cooperation was successful implementation in Uzbekistan of large-scale projects with German world-class concerns. Among them - setting up the production of modern trucks together with MAN. The production capacities of JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan JV are located in Jambay region of Samarkand region. The production area of the enterprise is 26.34 hectares. The company produces MAN trucks with full weight from 15 to 50 tonnes: truck tractors, dump trucks, vans, special machinery. The plant’s capacity is designed to produce over 3,000 trucks a year with the possibility of increasing up to 8,000 units.
“I assumed the duties of Ambassador of Germany in Uzbekistan in September this year. I note that bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Germany show a dynamic growth. At the same time, both states are interested in an even greater expansion of cooperation and demonstrate their activity in an effort to raise it to a new level. It is very important for us to invest in markets, which have a high potential for economic growth. Uzbekistan, which occupies strategic positions in Central Asia, has always been an important state for MAN, and our relations, which have already been more than 25 years, have a solid foundation. Thanks to the complex of anti-crisis measures adopted in Uzbekistan aimed at maintaining sustainable growth of the economy, as well as ongoing projects for development of transport infrastructure and active development of industrial production, there is a great demand for quality trucks in various sectors of the economy,” German Ambassador Günter Overfeld said.
“We express confidence that the arrival on the Uzbek market of such a well-known company in the world market as MAN has not only opened a new direction in production of commercial vehicles in the country, but also serves to develop a comprehensive relationship between MAN Group and Uzbekistan. The special importance of Uzbekistan is also due to the fact that the republic has enormous potential, shows its will and confidence on the path to sustainable and stable development. I am very glad that we have found such a strong and reliable partner,” he added.
During the visit to the enterprise, the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the joint Uzbek-German enterprise and inspected the samples of equipment produced at the plant. It is important to note that the new MAN A22 CNG buses are certified for improved environmental standards EEV, more stringent than EURO-5.
