WB: Uzbekistan’s economy to grow by 7.6% in 2017

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- World Bank improved its forecast for economic growth of Uzbekistan. Now, the bank expects that Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) will grow by 7.6% in 2017.
The June Global Economic Prospects of World Bank said that Uzbekistan’s GDP will grow by 7.6% in 2017, which is 0.2 percentage higher compared to the forecast of the bank in January 2017.
According to the bank’s forecasts, the growth of Uzbekistan’s economy will make 7.7% in 2018 and 7.8% in 2019.
World Bank also improved its forecast for GDP growth in Uzbekistan in 2018 and 2019 by 0.3 and 0.4 percentage points compared to the January forecast.
The bank’s report noted that Uzbekistan’s GDP increased by 7.8% in 2016, which is 0.5 percentage points higher than the January forecast.
