President of Uzbekistan approves measures to strengthen control over the rational use of land

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree "On Measures to Strengthen Control over the Protection and Rational Use of Land, Improve Geodetic and Cartographic Activities, Streamline the Management of State Cadastres."
President of Uzbekistan also signed a resolution “On measures to further improve the activities of the State Committee of Uzbekistan on land resources, geodesy, cartography and state cadastre”.
The documents determine the main tasks and activities of the State Committee of Uzbekistan on land resources, geodesy, cartography and state cadastre.
The committee will ensure implementation of a unified state policy on the rational use and protection of land, geodetic and cartographic activities.
It will also implement systematic state control over rational use and protection of lands, as well as state geodetic control over strict compliance with the legislation.
The committee will develop and implement the state programs to improve soil fertility, rational use and protection of land, etc.
In accordance with the adopted documents, the Scientific Research Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry is to be transferred from the Uzbek Scientific and Production Center of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Uzbekistan to the structure of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Land Resources, Geodesy, Cartography and State Cadastre.
This will allow timely and high-quality implementation of the tasks and functions assigned to the committee, organize study of soil fertility of irrigated lands and determine their score-bonitet by conducting scientific research on the basis of a complete analysis of soil composition and all processes in soils in specialized scientific laboratories.
Deputy chairman of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for land resources, geodesy, cartography and the state cadastre will be responsible for organizing and coordinating activities in the sphere of the state cadastre, introduction of advanced information and communication technologies and development of international relations.
The resolution of the President of Uzbekistan approved the organizational structure of the committee, the structure of its central apparatus, as well as the model structure and the maximum number of employees of the land resources and state cadastre departments of Karakalpakstan, the provinces and the city of Tashkent, the land resources departments and the state cadastre of the districts (cities).
The program of measures on further development of the State Committee of Uzbekistan on land resources, geodesy, cartography and state cadastre, introduction of advanced scientific and technical achievements in the industry, updating the material and technical base, attracting international grants for the industry for 2017-2021 was also approved.
As part of the implementation of measures to develop and strengthen the material and technical basis of the committee and its territorial structures, it is envisaged to provide regional (city) departments for land resources and the state cadastre with additional office vehicles, and specialists on the ground with modern measuring instruments and office space.
To fulfill the main tasks in the sphere of ensuring effective use of land resources and monitoring compliance with the legislation, the committee and its territorial subdivisions are exempt from payment of state duty on claims and applications submitted to courts in accordance with its authority.
