Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan adopted a programme on reconstruction of dehkan markets and construction modern trade complexes in their territories for 2017-2019.
The programme was adopted in line with the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On approval of the programme on reconstruction of dehkan markets and construction modern trade complexes in their territories for 2017-2019”.
The programme envisages construction of three-storey hypermarkets (9), two-storey supermarkets (28), one-story supermarkets (126) and mini-markets (79) in the territories of the markets. The parking sites will be also created.
Mobile trade pavilions from light constructions with use of sandwich-panels will be created to realization of fruits and vegetables.
The programme also envisages measures on optimization of 59 inefficient and insolvent dehkan farms with possible construction of trade and production objects in their territories.
Some 726 billion soums will be directed to finance the programme, of which 631.5 billion soums will be due to resources of National Bank of Uzbekistan and 81.5 billion soums – due to own resources of the businesses and preferential loans of other commercial banks.
The resolution said that operations of the 328 dehkan markets were analyzed and many shortages were revealed. About 70% of markets do not meet modern requirements. Over 20% of markets work only one day. Over 90% of markets should be reconstructed.
There were also problems with payment for goods with use of banking cards. All these factors pushed to reconsider strategy of development of dekhan markets.
