High speed train to link Almaty and Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A high speed train “Tulpar-Talgo” will link Almaty and Tashkent from 22 March 2017, Passajirskiyi Perevzoki of Kazakhstan said in a statement.

International passenger train No. 1/2 “Almaty-Tashkent” consisting of “Tulpar-Talgo” wagons of a new modification with a wide body will be launched on the eve of Navruz.

The train will depart from Almaty on Mondays and Saturdays, from Tashkent on Tuesdays and Sundays. The journey will take about 16 hours and 30 minutes.

The company said that the railway companies of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held a meeting in Tashkent to discuss organizational issues related to new route.

The sides agreed on mutual provision of discounts of 70% for places intended for persons with disabilities and accompanying persons. In addition, they also discussed the procedure for the carriage of luggage and cargo-luggage.
