Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) was named after Muhammad Al-Khwarizmi.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures on further improving activities of Tashkent University of Information Technologies”.
The resolution was adopted to preserve heritage of Muhammad Al-Khwarizmi and create conditions for upbringing young scientists.
Muhammad Al-Khwarizmi was born in 783 in Khiva, Khorezm region. He is well-known scholar. He is the author of encyclopedic books on mathematics, geometry, astronomy, history and geography. He is the founder of algebra.
Uzbek leader determined concrete measures on further improving activities of the university and attracting youth to researches.
It is planned to organize various events dedicated to heritage of Muhammad Al-Khwarizmi starting from 2017-2018 academic year.
Mirziyoyev also reorganized the Center for processing software and hardware-software complex under the university to the Scientific-innovative center of information-communication technologies.
The Center will develop local software for internal and external markets, the resolution said.
