Chairperson of Uzbek CEC meets with Kazakh envoy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalamov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerik Utembayev on 21 November 2016.

During the meeting, the Kazakh side was informed about work conducted within the programme of main events of organizing and holding of the elections of the President of Uzbekistan, which will be held on 4 December 2016.

CEC chairperson also briefed the Kazakh side on changes to electoral legislation. He also noted that the election body invited international observers to the presidential elections to ensure transparency and openness of elections.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of developing cooperation between election bodies of two states and other issues of mutual interest.
