He said in Minsk that the CIS mission will start its work in Tashkent and other regions of Uzbekistan on 17 November.
He said that long-term observers will be directed to Uzbekistan. Lebedev said that short-term observers will arrive in Uzbekistan on the eve of elections.
Lebedev said that over 70 observers will be in Uzbekistan from the CIS.
The CIS Executive Committee underlined that the CIS started observation of presidential elections in Uzbekistan as soon as it received the invitation. He said that the CIS experts monitor mass media and meetings of candidates.
