In line with Article 28 of the Law “On Elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan” the election agitation campaign starts from the date of registration by the Central Election Commission of the candidates for President of Uzbekistan.
The CEC said that each candidate will receive equal opportunities use mass media during agitation period.
The candidates will receive 638 minutes of time to present their pre-election programme at Uzbekistan and Yoshlar TV channels. They will also receive 206 minutes at 12 local television channels of Uzbekistan TV and Radio Company of Uzbekistan and 286 minutes at Tashkent channel.
During the agitation period, each candidate will receive free spaces for publication of their pre-election programme at newspapers Khalq Sozi, Narodnoye Slovo, Pravda Vostoka, Ovozi Tojik and Nurli Jol. Territorial papers will publish these materials as well.
The candidates will also receive 642 places for external billboards, special constructions, displays and 36 electronic displays to show promotional ads for free.
The candidates to the post of the President of Uzbekistan will independently select type, form, method and content of the agitation materials in mass media. At the same time, the candidates can use party media, which can publish materials at any volume.
