Uzbekistan plans to attract WB loan to modernize substations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is planning to attract resources of the World Bank for modernization and upgrade of substations of the energy system of the country till the end of 2016.
According to the website of the World Bank, Uzbekistan plans to attract US$150 million to realization of the project.
The World Bank said that the cost of the project is US$170.3 million. It is expected that International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) will provide US$92 million and International Development Association (IDA) – US$58 million.
Board of Directors of the World Bank is planning to consider issue of loan allocation in December 2016.
Within the project, Uzbekistan plans to modernize 22 main substations with voltage of 220 and 500 kilowatts.
