Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Germany’s Knauf opened its Knauf first resource center in Uzbekistan on 20 November 2015. The Center was created on the base of Margilan Construction Professional College in Ferghana region.
The resource center was created at the cooperation with the Center for secondary special professional education.
The center will allow college students to familiarize with advanced technologies and innovative solutions for internal finishing, train to use modern construction materials for fast, quality and economical construction.
Knauf Resource Center will conduct training based on programme for secondary special educational and short-term courses with the right to issue Knauf certificates.
Franz Satzinger, Knauf CIS Sales Manager in Central Asia and the Caucasus, said there are three Knauf educational centers in Uzbekistan, which shows activity of the company in the country. He said that over 600 people underwent training at these centers in 2015.
Satzinger stated that Knauf pays attention to trainings on use of its products, so they were used correctly during construction works. He noted that Ferghana Valley is one of good markets for Knauf and the company is happy to create educational center in Ferghana region.
Head of department for central education of Knauf CIS Yelena Parikova presented activities of educational centers of Knauf in the CIS states. She noted that there are 78 educational centers of Knauf in the CIS, of which 13 are own centers and 51 – resources centers, as well as 14 – consultative centers.
Knauf earlier opened consultation centers in Uzbekistan on the base of the universities. The first was opened in June 2008 under Tashkent State Architecture and Construction Institute, which proved is efficiency in training skilled builders. In 2014, Knauf opened the second center at the Samarkand State Architecture and Construction Institute named after Mirzo Ulugbek. One center operates under the Knauf enterprise in Bukhara region.
The center was fully equipped with necessary tools for installation of gypsum boards and use of gypsum mixtures at construction works.
Knauf International GmbH purchased 30.77% of state assets in Bukharagips for US$1.55 million and undertook obligation to invest US$6.3 million in three years. Currently, Knauf holds 98.98% stake in enterprise and employees and other shareholders – 1.02%. The enterprise specializes on production of dry gypsum mixtures.
The enterprise was founded in 1934. Bukharagips owns gypsum mine with reserves for 45.028 million tonnes with 90-100% calcium content, lime mine with reserve of 7.8 million tonnes, as well as mines.
Knauf International GmbH launched production of dry gypsum mixtures in 2009 at the base of Bukharagips. The capacity of the plant is 60,000 tonnes a year.
Knauf completed construction of capacities on production of gypsum boards in Kagan (Bukhara region) of Uzbekistan with the cost of US$51 million.
