UNDP carries out functional analysis of Tashkent regional administration

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UNDP Country Office in Uzbekistan will host a roundtable dedicated to discussion of the results of functional analysis of Tashkent regional administration on 20 November 2015.
Functional analysis is a tool to evaluate efficiency of the activities of the state bodies. The main goal of the functional analysis of the state bodies is to reveal their efficiency and develop recommendations on improving situation in the bodies.
The system of state administration is the most important sphere of the public life of the country, which requires regular optimization to ensure efficient and transparent state administration and solving problems, including red-tape.
UNDP and Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan are implementing project “Local Governance Support Program /Phase-2” to improve efficiency, accountancy and inclusiveness of the local administration in Uzbekistan. Jizzakh, Namangan and Tashkent regions are pilot regions of the project. In 2015, the UNDP helped to the Government of Uzbekistan to carry out functional analysis of Tashkent regional administration.
Serbian expert Vladimir Vlaikovic was invited to carry out to functional analysis at the regional administrations of Uzbekistan. From 25 July to 3 August, Vlaikovic conducted seminar to the UNDP employees, officials of ministries, departments and regional administrations on functional analysis. The expert also helped to conduct functional analysis at Tashkent city administrations and develop a report with proposals and recommendations.
At the roundtable, Vladimir Vlaikovic and the UNDP specialists will brief the participants on their mission in Uzbekistan and share results of conducted functional analysis, international experience, give their recommendations on introduction of them in Uzbekistan.
