Economy of Jizzakh region grows by 8.6% in 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross regional product (GRP) of Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan grew by 8.6% in 2014, a session of the regional council said.
The industrial output of the region rose by 15.4% in 2014, agriculture production – 6.4%, construction works – 11.2% and retail trade – 17%. The enterprises exported goods for US$45.6 million.
Last year, Jizzakh region commissioned 627 new houses in lie with the state programme on construction of standard houses. About 26.7 km of electricity networks were commissioned in the region, 22.9 km of gas pipelines, 26.1 km of water pipelines and 15.9 km of roads.
About 990 new small businesses were created in Jizzakh region and their total number reached 8,625. Share of the sector in GRP reached 79.9%.
The commercial banks allocated 265 billion soums of loans to support small businesses of the region in 2014.
The capital investments at the volume of 1.027 trillion soums were used in 2014 and 564,100 tonnes of habitations, 2 music and art schools, sport halls at five schools, 252.8 km of water pipes, 68.5 km of gas pipes, and 129 km of collectors were reconstructed.
Within the state programme “The Year of Health Children”,the resources for 554 billion soums were used.
