China’s Poly Technologies to construct tires plant in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State joint stock company Uzkimyosanoat (Uzbek Chemical Industry) signed a contract with China’s Poly Technologies Inc. to construction of tires plant in Uzbekistan with the cost of about US$200 million in Tashkent region, RIA Novosti reported quoting source in Chinese company.
The contract was signed to construction of technological part of object on turn-key bases, the source said. The project envisages construction at the base of Rezinotehnika (Angren, Tashkent region” of the plant with the capacity of 3 million automobile tires, 200,000 agriculture tires and 100,000 meters of conveyer belt a year. The construction works will be conducted within 34 months.
In December 2013, Uzkimyosanoat announced a tender on selection of general contractor for construction of the plant with starting cost of US$190 million. In August 2014, the tender was announced as invalid.
The project with the cost of US$200 million will be financed due to own resources of Uzkimyosanoat, loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, as well as foreign loans.
