Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An airplane of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways), conducting a flight from Tashkent to Amritsar, made an emergency landing in Lahore Airport (Pakistan) on Friday, The Times of India reported.
The flight reached Amritsar on Friday morning (10 January), but could not land at Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport due to bad weather. There was fog in the city.
Hoping for the fog to clear, the pilot reportedly flew over the Amritsar skies for about half an hour, but sensing a fuel shortage he diverted the aircraft to Lahore, where it made an emergency landing.
The Lahore airport authorities refused to refuel the aircraft, following which it had to be stationed there for about seven hours. There were also problems with permissions.
Later, the plane with 167 passengers was allowed fuel after many hours and reached Amritsar on the same day. After 114 passengers disembarked in Amritsar, the flight headed to Delhi.
