Indian Vice President to visit Uzbekistan next week

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Vice President of India Hamid Ansari will pay a visit to Uzbekistan on 21-24 May 2013. It will be the first visit by an Indian vice president to Uzbekistan, Indian media reported on Saturday, 18 May 2013.
It is expected that Ansari will visit Samarkhand, Tashkent and Bukhara during his visit to Uzbekistan. Environment and Forests Minister Jayanthi Natarajan will be accompanying the vice president as well as four MPs.
He will meet President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to discuss Afghanistan and counter-terrorism cooperation, collaboration in economic projects, as well as other issues.
According to the data of Indian side, two countries have US$200 million bilateral trade with the balance in trade in favour of India, which exports mainly drugs and pharmaceuticals.
