Uzbekistan plans to introduce automated gas consumption control system

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to implement a project on introduction of automated system of control over natural gas consumption.
Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan issued a resolution "On measures on attracting to Uzbekistan of no-string technical assistance (grants) of donor countries, international and foreign governmental and non-governmental organizations for 2013-2015" on 29 March 2013.
The project on introduction of automated system of control over natural gas consumption was included to the list of projects, which will be realized due to grants of donors.
The resolution said that Uztransgaz joint stock company plans to attract grant of Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of Korean Eximbank for US$400,000 to implement the project.
The resources will be used to development of the feasibility study of the project “Introduction of automated system of control over natural gas consumption”.
Uztransgas is planning to implement the project among consumer in Tashkent city and Tashkent region. The preliminary cost of the project is US$200 million. It is planned to install 1.04 million smart gas meters in two areas.
The project will also create billing and communication systems, and system on data management. The project will be implemented within two years.
