About 29.3% of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover falls to share of Russia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia remains one of the largest trade partners of Uzbekistan. Share of Russia in trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up about 29.3% in January-September 2010, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia made up US$4.540 billion in the reporting period, which is up by 36.6% year-on-year. At the same time, exports of Uzbekistan comprised US$3.221 billion in January-September 2010 (US$1.663 billion in Jan-Sep 2009), while imports made up US$1.319 billion (US$1.661 billion).
China is the second largest partner of Uzbekistan with the share of 8.4%. Bilateral trade turnover between two states reached US$1.307 billion in the first nine months of 2010, which decreased by 16.7% year-on-year.
Uzbekistan increased exports to China from US$346.3 million in January-September 2009 to US$471.6 million in the same period of 2009. Imports, it its turn, decreased from US41.222 billion to US$835.4 million in the reviewed period.
Kazakhstan and South Korea claimed the third place with 7.2% share each. Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan grew by 16.5% to US$1.12 billion in January-September 2010. Exports of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan rose from US$409.5 million to US$571.6 million, while import decreased from US$552.1 million to US$548.7 million.
Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and South Korea made up US$1.12 billion in the reporting period. The growth rate was 32.4%. Uzbekistan delivered goods and services for US$102.5 million in January-September 2010 (US$71 million in January-September 2009). The volume of imports from South Korea reached US$1.018 billion in January-September 2010 against US$775.6 million in nine months of 2009.
Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$15.507 billion in January-September 2010 (+0.2% year-on-year), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said. At the same time, trade turnover of Uzbekistan with the CIS states comprised US$6.481 billion and other states – US$9.027 billion.
