The play “Lazgi. Dance of Soul and Love" to open the International Opera and Ballet Festival

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – The play “Lazgi. Dance of Soul and Love" will be the opening event of the International Opera and Ballet Festival. The play will be performed on 24-25 February.

The annual International Opera and Ballet Festival, organized by the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, will be held in Tashkent from 28 February to 16 March 2024.

Lazgi, which is an incredibly reverent Khorezm dance, is included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

A team of international specialists worked on staging the performance. The film’s music is composed by composer Davidson Giaconello and features stunning scenery and animation by world-renowned Japanese multimedia artist Yoko Seyama.

The author of the libretto and choreographer is Raoul Raimondo Rebeck, a famous German dancer, choreographer of the Dortmund Ballet and artistic director of the NRW Junior Ballet. He is also the recipient of prestigious international awards, including the Prix de Lausanne.
