A new educational center for the leather, footwear and textile industries has opened

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the GIZ project “Supporting the process of reforming and modernizing the vocational education system of Uzbekistan - TexVET”, the Training Center of the Council Network for the Development of Professional Competencies in the textile, clothing and leather industries began its activities. 

In this regard, a press conference was organized dedicated to the opening ceremony of the center. The press conference was attended by representatives of the associations “Uzcharmsanoat”, “Uztekstilprom”, the German Embassy in Uzbekistan and GIZ, the public and the media.

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is the German Society for International Cooperation, operating in 130 countries. GIZ has been implementing projects in Uzbekistan since 1992. Through international cooperation, GIZ supports reforms in the areas of economics, education, health and natural resource protection.

At the press conference, the goals and objectives of the GIZ TexVET project, the role of the Council in the light industry, as well as important factors for ensuring stable growth of the industry were discussed. Industry representatives made presentations. Information was also presented on the center’s activities aimed at strengthening the capacity of network councils in Uzbekistan.
