"Colorful Asia: Exhibition of Asian Costumes" exhibition opens in Hangzhou
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Recently, the exhibition “Colorful Asia: an exhibition of Asian costumes” opened in the Chinese city of Hangzhou.
According to the press service of the Art and Culture Development Foundation, our country presented twenty exhibits from the collection of the State Museum of Art and the Samarkand State Museum-Reserve. These are traditional Uzbek suzanis, chapans and jewelry.
“We are honored to participate in the International Exhibition “Colorful Asia: Exhibition of Asian Costumes”, dedicated to the XIX Asian Games. The fact that it is taking place in the world-famous Silk Museum is especially valuable for us, because our countries are united by at least a three-thousand-year history of this craft,” said Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva.
“During the trade, including silk, close diplomatic relations were formed, cultures intertwined and technologies were exchanged, which contributed to mutual development and economic prosperity along the Great Silk Road. Perhaps this is largely due to our traditions and core values becoming so similar. I want to thank our Chinese friends for their hospitality and interest in Uzbek culture. The history of our silk is an integral part of our common cultural heritage, and this exhibition is a great opportunity to show this,” the statement says.
