Minister of ICT proposes to open regional offices of American IT companies in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 June, Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum and informed him about the work being carried out at the new IT Park complex.
As you know, on 14 April, the head of our state instructed to turn Uzbekistan into a regional information technology center.
In order to ensure the fulfillment of this task, a number of meetings are held with the ambassadors of foreign states in Uzbekistan, leading experts, representatives of IT companies to discuss cooperation issues.
In order to further expand cooperation, a presentation of the new IT Park complex and the activities of the Astrum IT Academy was also held at the meeting. It was noted that the infrastructure of the ICT sector is being radically updated, which is aimed at attracting the world’s largest IT companies, developing the IT Park, and creating a favorable environment for IT representatives in general.
Further, the Minister of ICT informed the Ambassador about the new IT Park complex under construction.
The goal is to train young people in the professions of remote service for leading foreign companies, i.e. outsourcing (BPO and KPO), attracting leading foreign IT companies to Uzbekistan, turning the country into a regional IT center, he said.
At the same time, it was noted that with the involvement of leading American companies in Uzbekistan, key partners in the creation of outsourcing remote service centers (BPO and KPO), cooperation between the United States and Uzbekistan in the field of IT is entering a new stage.
During the presentation, the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov invited the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum to open regional offices of American IT companies in Uzbekistan.
