Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Academy of Public Administration and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Uzbekistan office announced the final results of the DEEP project "Improving the capacity building of the Academy of Public Administration to introduce innovations in the public sector of Republic of Uzbekistan " in 2017-2021 US$3.15 million.
In this regard, on 26 November 2021, an international scientific and practical conference was held on the topic "Modern challenges and priority areas of the development of the system of public administration”.
The event was attended by Park Yong-jin, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea; Park Sunjin, Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Uzbekistan office ; Kim Pan Suk, former Minister of Personnel Management of the Republic of Korea/member of the UN Commission on International Civil Service ; Adkham Bekmuradov, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Otabek Khasanov, First Deputy Director of Civil Service Development Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the heads of ministries and departments, leading domestic and foreign scientists, specialists from various branches of government, representatives of interested government bodies.
The purpose of the conference is to create a discussion platform for discussion and comparative analysis of the current state and problems of the functioning of the public administration system, as well as the development of recommendations for its further improvement.
Speaking at the event, the participants of the two sides noted that cooperation between Korea and Uzbekistan is being developed further and is reflected in various spheres, including public administration. In addition, the speakers of the forum presented their reports on the results of the joint project of KOICA and the Academy of Public Administration over the past 4 years. Within the framework of the event, for the first time in Uzbekistan, a presentation of books in the field of public administration, written in collaboration with foreign specialists, that is, Korean, was held.
For information, the project " Improving the capacity building of the Academy of Public Administration to introduce innovations in the public sector of Republic of Uzbekistan " was launched in 2017 on the basis of a memorandum signed between the KOICA Uzbekistan office and the Academy of Public Administration on various reforms in public administration.
For the immediate implementation of the project, a project management team was formed, consisting of representatives of leading organizations such as the Korea Institute of Public Administration (KIPA), Seoul National University (SNU), Korea National Institute for Human Resource Development (NHI) and CICSOFT.
Within the framework of the project, consultations were organized on the analysis and further improvement of the educational system of the Academy of Public Administration of Uzbekistan, a methodological materials "State policy of Korea and Uzbekistan" was developed. In addition, an e-book has been developed that combines 7 directions.
At the end of the event, the participants shared their views on the results achieved.
