Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In recent years, the government of Uzbekistan has been paying special attention to strengthening the health of the country’s population and is taking a number of measures in this direction.
In particular, mass sports events are regularly held in order to attract the population to physical culture and sports. The organization of such events will strengthen the health of the country’s residents, as well as increase confidence in the future.
A logical continuation of the implementation of such projects, one can note the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to develop mass sports and the introduction of a healthy lifestyle for every citizen", published on the portal for discussing draft resolutions.
Another project that is being implemented to improve the health of citizens of Uzbekistan is the creation of special lanes for walking and cycling on the streets of the city. This direction is also covered in detail in the draft Presidential Resolution, which is now being actively discussed by the public.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov got acquainted with the work carried out in Tashkent in this direction. He was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports A. Karimov and other officials. It is worth noting that while getting acquainted with the work done, they were on bicycles.
Aziz Abdukakhkhorovich got acquainted with the conditions created the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of the capital, and also studied the current work that is being carried out here. During the familiarization, the officials were given appropriate instructions.
“The pedestrian and bicycle paths created in Mirzo-Ulugbek district are being introduced as an experiment. In addition, this work will continue in Yunusabad district, and will be gradually introduced in all regions of the country. It is planned to attract international experts, and only then the bicycle and pedestrian paths will be commissioned. All this work will greatly facilitate the life of both residents of our city and foreigners. And most importantly, residents and guests of the capital will have the opportunity to go in for sports and physical education. The new draft regulation, which is now widely discussed by the public, also provides financial incentives for ordinary pedestrians. In other words, people who walk at least 10,000 steps or more a day will receive 3,000 soums to their electronic wallet on the Healthy Lifestyle platform. Naturally, we hope that this will encourage everyone to walk more often,” Aziz Abdukhakimov said.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov visited Sergeli district of the city of Tashkent. Earlier, he visited the children’s and youth sports school in the area, where he got acquainted with the conditions created for young people and plans for the future.
Upon completion of the study of all conditions, an order was given to turn Sergeli district into an exemplary region for the development of physical culture and mass sports in the country.
It should be noted that in accordance with the Concept for the development of physical culture and mass sports among the population of our country, the city of Kokand, Sergeli, Nurata and Amudarya regions of the country will be transformed into exemplary regions.
