Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 August, a working meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in the format of online conference communication to discuss the issues of holding entrance examinations at the Tashkent branch of the TOBB ETU University.
During the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkey, on 19 February, Ankara hosted the first meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Council for Strategic Cooperation of the highest level, following which the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey signed Memorandum on the opening in Tashkent of a branch of the University of Economics and Technology of Turkey at the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey.
On 17 June 2020, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 389 was adopted on the opening of a branch of the Turkish University of Economics and Technology TOBB ETU in Tashkent.
The meeting was attended by the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent State Economic University, as well as from the Turkish side: Secretary General of the ECO CCI Adem Kula, Rector of the University of Economics and Technology of Turkey under the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey "TOBB" Guven Sak and other responsible persons.
They discussed the organization and conduct of entrance examinations, as well as the timing of their conduct.
The entrance exams are planned for the period from 25 August to 1 September. The exams will be in two subjects: mathematics and English. In the morning there will be exams in mathematics, in the afternoon in English.
In particular, it was noted that test trials should be carried out in places that ensure the epidemiological safety of applicants and observers.
Given the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic and for the convenience of applicants, during the meeting, an agreement was reached to extend the deadline for submission of documents until 20 August 2020
It should be noted that the students of this university will have a unique opportunity to travel to Turkey. In the third trimester, they will get acquainted with the activities of leading Turkish companies and well-known entrepreneurs, and will also undertake internships in large enterprises in the field of the electrical industry, in the textile and fruit and vegetable clusters in Turkey. All this will take place with the provision of food and accommodation.
