The sides exchanged views on the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Nagoya in December last year.
During the talks, a wide range of issues was considered on the further expansion of economic cooperation, the development of tourism, the exchange of specialists, the intensification of air traffic, as well as on cooperation in the fight against coronavirus infection.
During the dialogue, Takashi Kawamura said with great pride that “the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Nagoya is an unprecedented event in the history of the city” and expressed his firm commitment to the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit.

A special emphasis was placed on the development of twinning relations between the city of Tashkent and the city of Nagoya, between which constant friendly ties have been established. In this context, they discussed the prospect of opening a representative office of the Tashkent city administration in Nagoya, which will become an additional tool for establishing systemic cooperation aimed at developing economic relations, increasing the tourist flow between the two cities by increasing direct flights, as well as exchanging experience, technologies and highly qualified specialists.

The parties came to a mutual agreement on the development of cooperation in training personnel in the field of health care between the Tashkent Medical Academy and Nagoya University and outlined further practical actions in this direction.
Also during the negotiations, a number of individual issues related to the implementation of joint projects were considered. At the same time, the need to maximize the use of the existing potential of investment cooperation was noted, in connection with which the parties exchanged proposals on the implementation of previously agreed projects. The parties welcomed the progress in the implementation of the project for the production of commercial passenger elevators by Mitsubishi Electric in Uzbekistan.
As a result of the videoconference, an agreement was also reached on organizing mutual visits of business delegations consisting of Japanese and Uzbek entrepreneurs as the epidemiological situation stabilizes.
