Uzbekistan records growth of Internet speed during the COVID-19 pandemic
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ookla has published Speedtest.net data “Tracking the Impact of COVID-19 on Global Internet Performance” as of the second half of June 2020. According to new data, the speed of the fixed Internet (Fixed Speed Change) increased by 8 percent, the speed of the mobile Internet (Mobile Speed Change) - by 16 percent.
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, as of June, the speed of the global fixed Internet (Fixed Speed Change) increased by 2 percent, the speed of mobile Internet in the world - by 8 percent (Mobile Speed Change).
At the same time, in the republic over this period, the speed of fixed Internet has grown by 8 percent, and the speed of mobile Internet - by 16 percent.
It should be noted that over the past year has been marked by a qualitative increase in the speed of the Internet in Uzbekistan. Over the past year, the speed of fixed Internet in Uzbekistan has grown by almost 2.3 times. So, if in March 2019 it was equal to 11.62 Mbit/s, As of 1 June 2020 it was 26.77 Mbit/s As of 15 June 2020, the speed of the fixed Internet has grown to 27.59 Mbps.
