Humanitarian aid of Uzbekistan transferred to the Afghan people

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A solemn ceremony was held in the city of Hairaton to transfer humanitarian aid from the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Afghan people, Dunyo reported.
The event was attended by delegations of the two countries, headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan E. Shodmonov and the Minister of State for Emergencies of Afghanistan N. Fakhim.
The speeches of the representatives of Afghanistan sounded sincere thanks to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Uzbek people for the assistance provided. They praised the role of Uzbekistan in establishing peace, as well as restoring the economy and infrastructure of Afghanistan.
“A popular proverb says that a true friend is in need, and this has been proved by the Republic of Uzbekistan, which always gives a helping hand to the Afghan people in difficult situations,” said N. Fakhim. - Uzbekistan after China is the second country to provide such significant humanitarian assistance in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The governor of the Balkh province I. Rakhguzar noted that Uzbekistan is a real fraternal state, every inhabitant of Afghanistan feels and will feel his support.
The chairman of the provincial council, M. Hadid, on behalf of the residents of Balkh, assured that they would never forget this humanitarian aid, which is urgently needed by the poor and medical workers.
