Holders of an “investment visa” to receive a residence permit for a period of 10 years
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Amendments and additions were made to some decisions of the Government of Uzbekistan.
By a presidential decree from 17 January 2019, an “investment visa” was introduced for persons who made foreign investments, and in accordance with the amendments introduced, the procedure for issuing this visa and related benefits was established.
In particular, an investment visa is issued and extended by the territorial internal affairs bodies.
To obtain and extend an investment visa, the person needs to apply with a standard form, attach an application from a company with foreign investment, as well as one of the relevant certificates of investments and presenting a national passport.
Also, foreign investors with an investment visa, as well as members of their families, when studying at higher educational institutions are entitled to receive scholarships and postgraduate education on the conditions provided for citizens of Uzbekistan.
According to the amendments, a foreign citizen who has made investments in the amount of US$3 million is issued a residence permit in Uzbekistan for a period of 10 years (previously issued for a period of 5 years for all foreign citizens).
