Uzbekneftegaz, CNODC discuss construction of gas pipeline
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A management of Uzbekneftegaz held a meeting with a delegation of CNODC (China).
The agenda included a discussion on accelerating the implementation of a project to build the 4th line of the Uzbekistan-China gas pipeline, as well as to determine the volume of supply of Uzbek gas transported through this facility.
It was noted that, to date, the project serves the interests of not only Uzbekistan and China, but also the countries of the Central Asian region.
Based on this, the parties agreed to take joint measures to accelerate the construction of the gas pipeline.
It should be noted that the length of the Uzbek section of this pipeline is 205 km, and will run through the territory of Surkhandarya region. To implement the project, the joint venture Eastern Gas Pipeline was created with equal shares between Uzbekneftegaz JSC and CNPC. The amount of foreign direct investment and loans to the project is approximately US$800 million.
