Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Chamber of Commerce Republic of Uzbekistan, with the assistance of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce (AUCC), organized a seminar in the form of a videoconference (webinar) on the theme: "Development of bilateral cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the United States."
The event was organized within a view to further expanding bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States, as well as the implementation of agreements reached following the visits of Uzbek delegations to the United States at the highest and highest levels.
The online video conference was attended by the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, the executive director of AUCC Elena Son, representatives of the diplomatic corps and more than 50 representatives of business circles of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
This platform was initiated by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to support Uzbek entrepreneurs willing to do business with representatives of the US business community in the area of financing and implementing joint business projects.
During the videoconference, representatives of US financial institutions made presentations on the available resources and financing programs for foreign business projects.
In particular, Mr. Bill Hawke, Regional Finance Manager of the United States Small Business Administration (SBA), in his presentation noted the importance of the participation of Uzbek companies in foreign trade missions, international exhibitions and fairs, as well as the development of specialized websites to attract foreign investment.
Moreover, Ms. Tara Blake, Director of International Project Finance for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), offered innovative solutions for financial support to private companies through the provision of direct loans and loan guarantees to foreign companies with US capital.
Also, the managing director of WCC International Elshan Baloghlanov presented the possibilities of resources for the certification of goods for promotion to the American market.
Following the event, representatives of business circles of 4 countries discussed the prospects for the implementation of joint projects, as well as the mutually beneficial development of multilateral cooperation.
