A 1.5 km tunnel constructed at Yunusabad metro line
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek railway workers, using the German Herrenknecht tunnel shield, laid a tunnel about 1.5 kilometers in length towards the Shahristan station at Yunusabad metro line.
It should be noted that this multi-ton machine performed not only the tunneling work, but also simultaneously reinforced the concrete subway passage consisting of 938 tubings.
Currently, work on the implementation of the second phase of the construction of the extension of the Yunusabad branch continues. As you know, the laying of the tunnel is carried out in an open and closed way. Construction of the site where the work is being done in the open way is also nearing a logical conclusion.
The total length of the planned for the laying of the new railway is 2.93 kilometers. The construction and drilling and installation work involved specialists from the 67th detachment of the Trust “Kuprikkurilish”. About 40 modern construction machines, specialized machinery and equipment were attracted to construction works.
The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2019. Upon completion of this large-scale creative work, the Yunusabad metro line will extend two stations, Turkistan and Yunusabad, each of which will be designed based on the traditions of the national oriental architecture.
