About 590 schools to be repaired within Obod Qishloq and Obod Mahalla programmes
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Until 2017, construction, reconstruction and major repairs of buildings of general educational institutions within the public education system of Uzbekistan were carried out as part of the investment program.
Since 2018, at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, the state programs “Obod Kishlok” and “Obod Mahlla” have been developed and implemented in our country. Thanks to these programs, the number of new schools under construction has dramatically increased, as well as the reconstruction and overhaul of existing educational institutions.
As part of the investment program, in 2017, 556.6 billion soums were spent on construction and repair work in 484 general education schools, while in 2018, under the investment program, as well as the state programs “Obod Kishlok” and “Obod makhalla” were carried out repair work in 918 schools in the amount of 1.47 trillion soums.
It should be noted that the number of schools, where construction and repair work was carried out increased from 484 units in 2017 to 918 units in 2018 (an increase of 90%), and the amount of funds allocated for these purposes increased from 556.6 billion soums in 2017 to 1.47 trillion. soums in 2018 (growth - 160%).
This year, the target list of the state programs “Obod Kishlok” and “Obod Mahalla” included 590 general education schools (including 510 schools in the framework of the “Obod Kishlok” program and 80 schools in the framework of the “Obod Mahalla” program). 726.7 billion soums will be allocated for these purposes.
Due to the increase in modern villages and makhallas within the framework of the state programs “Obod Kishlok” and “Obod Mahlla”, the number of new and reconstructed secondary educational institutions will also increase.
In addition to construction and repair, the programs also include landscaping schools, roads, upgrading water-supply, heating, lighting and sewage systems.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Public Education will maintain constant control over the construction and repair work carried out within the framework of the investment program, as well as the state programs “Obod Kishlok” and “Obod Mahlla” state programs to ensure transparency and quality of execution, through a system of monitoring repairs and building schools
