Government approves cost of the project “Construction of the Sergeli metro line of the Tashkent metro”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan approved the technical and economic calculation of the project “Construction of the Sergeli metro line of the Tashkent subway”.
According to the document, the project cost for the construction of the Sergeli metro line will be US$82.6 million.
The project will be financed by the state budget (US$47.5 million) and a loan from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan (US$35.1 million).
Total length of this line of the Tashkent metro is 7.1 kilometers. The project was developed by JSC “Boshtransloyya”, according to which 6 stations will be built on the line. To create facilities for passengers, special elevators and escalators will be installed.
The uniqueness of the Sergeli metro line is that it will be above ground. The elevated view of the metro is an innovation not only for our country, but also for the Central Asian region as a whole.
Commissioning of the new line of the Tashkent metro is planned for 2020. Passenger turnover is estimated at 85.6 million passenger-kilometers per year.
