Issues of development of project toll road Tashkent-Samarkand discussed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- First Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilham Makhkamov met with representatives of a consortium of Turkish companies Cengiz-Kolin-Kalyon (CKK), led by Serdar Auver, the general director of the Turkish company Kalyon.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of the pilot project of the new toll highway Tashkent-Samarkand on the principles of public-private partnership.
The agreement on the implementation of this project was reached during the visit of the President of the Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Uzbekistan in the spring of 2018. The project was included in the roadmap of projects following the results of the Uzbek-Turkish forum.
In the framework of the joint meeting, an additional version of the route Tashkent-Samarkand, developed in the online version, was presented. Also discussed were issues of the detailed route route, engineering, financial and economic aspects of the project, its marginal cost and possible sources of its financing.
At the end of the meeting, the parties noted that this project will relieve the traffic of the existing highway Tashkent-Samarkand, reduce the distance to 2 hours and ensure stability in the implementation of further repair and restoration works of the highway.
