About 6.4 million foreigners visit Uzbekistan in 2018

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 6.4 million foreigners paid visit to Uzbekistan in 2018 against 2.8 million people in 2017, which is 2.3 times higher, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The number of Uzbek citizens who left the country has increased significantly over the past two years. If, for example, in 2017, 6.8 million people left the country, the figure reached 13.8 million people in 2018. The growth rate made up 2.0 times.
In 2018, about 53.1% (3.41 million people) of foreign visitors were men and 46.9% (3.01 million people) - women.
Along with this, the number of male, citizens of Uzbekistan, who left the country made up 57.8% (8 million people), and women - 42.2% (5.83 million people).
The number of foreign citizens who arrived in the Republic of Uzbekistan from the CIS countries amounted to 6.01 million people, which reached 93.5% of their total number, from non-CIS countries – 417,100 people (6.5% of their total numbers).
The number of citizens of Uzbekistan who travelled to CIS countries, reached 13.3 million people, which accounted for 96.2% of their total number, to non-CIS countries – 530,600 people (3.8% of total number).
The largest flow of foreign citizens into the republic came from such countries as Kazakhstan – 2.45 million people (38.2% of their total number), Tajikistan – 1.7 million (26.4%), and Kyrgyzstan – 1.1 million (17.1%), Russia – 460,200 people (7.2%). The largest flow of people among foreign countries was observed from Turkey – 74,800 people (1.2%), China – 37,100 (0.6%), South Korea – 32,700 (0.5%), India – 22,200 (0.3%), Germany – 19,100 (0.3%) and Japan – 17,200 people (0.3%).
The largest share of citizens of Uzbekistan, who travelled to the CIS countries, was recorded in such states as Kazakhstan - 51.6% (7.13 million people), Kyrgyzstan - 23.1%, (3.19 million people) and Russia - 8.5% (1.17 million people). In foreign countries, the largest outflow was observed to South Korea (79,700 people), China, USA, Germany, etc.
The goal of the largest part of foreign citizens, who entered Uzbekistan, is to visit relatives (73.2%). The smallest share of the foreigners, who entered have the tourist purpose - 7.1%, service - 0.9%, treatment - 0.8%, work - 0.6% and study - 0.2%.
Men make up 53.1% of all foreigners who have entered, and women - 46.9%. The largest number of citizens of Uzbekistan who travelers to foreign states, the goal is to visit relatives - 57.6%, the smallest - tourism - 2.9%, study - 0.8%, treatment, service - 0.4%.
