Khokim of Tashkent receives the ambassador of Belarus
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Acting Khokim of Tashkent Jahangir Artikhodjaev held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan Leonid Marinich.
The sides discussed the issue of signing a bilateral agreement between the khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent and the Minsk city executive committee on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan were established in January 1993. The Belarusian Embassy in Tashkent was opened in February 1994.
According to Leonid Marinich, Uzbekistan and Belarus have always linked genuinely friendly relations, mutual respect, open dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The meeting in the Tashkent khokimiyat also discussed topical issues of interregional cooperation, establishment of sister city relations between regions, districts and cities of the two republics.
In addition, issues of development of urban passenger transport in Tashkent and housing and communal services were reported, the press service of the Tashkent city khokimyat said.
