Uzmetkombinat to implement projects for US$474.5 million until 2023

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzmetkombinat plans to implement 13 projects with a total value of US$474.5 million in 2018-2022.
The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On measures for the implementation of investment projects and the effective use of facilities of Uzmetkombinat”.
In particular, the company intends to build a casting and rolling complex with a total value of US$377.5 million. The volume of direct investments and loans will exceed US$339.8 million. The project capacity is 1 million tons. The project will be implemented in 2018-2020.
By 2020, Uzmetkombinat JSC will send US$30 million to upgrade and modernize metallurgical equipment.
This year, the company will launch production facilities for ferrosilicon manganese with a capacity of 100,000 tons per year. The project cost is US$23.8 million.
By 2022, Uzmetkombinat will commission a plant to produce pipes worth US$15 million. The plant will annually produce up to 100,000 tons of products.
By 2023, the company is implementing a project to organize a workshop for the production of non-standard steel structures. The capacity of the workshop with a cost of US$3 million will be 6,000 tons of products.
Uzmetkombinat will also create capacity for the production of hydroponics, solid medicines, burnt bricks, etc.
